Eugene Levy Reunites With Martin Short For Only Murders In The Building Season Four
Feb 27, 2024
The fourth season of Hulu‘s acclaimed comedy series “Only Murders in the Building” keeps getting more and more intriguing. Meryl Streep is already back for a second go around and Molly Shannon and Eva Longoria were recently announced as new cast members. Today, Emmy Award winner and Canadian comedy icon Eugene Levy was revealed to be a recurring cast member for season four.

The fourth season will partially be set in Los Angeles, but the narrative will center on our favorite podcaster’s investigation into the murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Charles-Haden Savage’s (Steve Martin) stunt double, which occurred at the end of season three.
It’s still unclear what role Levy will play during the season but he has a long history and friendship with series star and executive producer Martin Short. The pair were part of the legendary comedy sketch series “SCTV” and Levy also appeared in cameos in the “Father of the Bride” movies alongside both Martin and Short. We’re not sure if another “SCTV” alum, Catherine O’Hara, can find time to stop by for a cameo, but maybe for season five.
Soon-to-be Oscar-winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph has also noted publicly she expects to return for the fourth season.
Created by showrunner John Hoffman and executive produced by cast members Selena Gomez, Short, and Martin, “Only Murders in the Building” has already earned 28 Emmy Award nominations and won four trophies for its first two seasons. It’s pretty much a lock to earn a third Comedy Series Emmy nomination this July.
Levy recently co-created and co-starred in “Schitt’s Creek” alongside O’Hara and his son Dan Levy. A four-time Emmy Award winner overall, he earned two more Emmys for Comedy Series and Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for that program in 2020. Levy can currently be seen as the host and executive producer of the Apple TV+ series “The Reluctant Traveler.” That travelogue program returns with its second season on March 8.
“Only Murders in the Building” season four is expected to premiere sometime this fall.
