‘The Blackening’

Stream on June 4

Directed by Tim Story, The Blackening is a dark horror comedy that follows a group of Black friends who travel to a remote cabin for a Juneteenth weekend getaway. When the power goes out on their first night, a killer with a vendetta makes himself known and threatens to murder everyone unless they play a creepy board game. However, it becomes abundantly clear right away that playing the game won’t save everyone. As they utilize their street smarts and knowledge of horror movies, they’ll do their best to stay alive. A film that intentionally skews genre tropes and sardonically ponders who will die first if everyone is Black, The Blackening promises to be a hilariously gruesome good time.
