Disney celebrates 10 years of Frozen with a touching new video showing the movie’s impact on audiences. Released in 2013, Frozen has since become a modern Disney classic, following sisters Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) as they navigate a crisis caused by Elsa’s ice powers. The movie was a hit critically and commercially, earning over $1.282 billion at the box office.

What’s Next For The Frozen Franchise
After the first movie proved to be so popular with audiences, it’s no surprise that a sequel was put into the works. Frozen 2 was released in 2019, reaching even greater heights than the original, with the film currently standing as the highest-grossing animated movie of all time with $1.454 billion earned. After several years of waiting, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed earlier this year that Frozen 3 is officially happening.
The film doesn’t yet have a release date and the plot remains unknown, but the film is expected to feature the core cast of characters, which includes Anna, Elsa, Olaf (Josh Gad), and Kirstoff (Jonathan Groff), going on another adventure. In addition to another feature film, the world of the franchise is also set to expand with a Frozen narrative podcast, which will feature a story set between the events of the second and third movies.
Beyond that, it’s not yet clear what the future holds for the Frozen franchise. All signs point to the third movie being a massive success, however, and it’s entirely possible that a fourth film will get the green light as well. With the WGA strike having now officially ended, work on Frozen 3 can either resume or get underway in a more serious capacity, meaning more announcements will hopefully be on the way in the coming months.
