Thank TikTok and Co. for keeping everyone up to date, of course. On June 5, Netflix’s beloved teen drama, Ginny & Georgia, returned with its third season, and it shook fans to their core. There is no doubt about that. Even though Season 1 and Season 2 of the bingeworthy hit series were an unexpected rollercoaster of chaos, this third time around is straight-up insane. Ginny & Georgia has dropped its cringey teen drama series status and has gone full-on serious mode, leaving its main characters in a more vulnerable spot than ever. There is a lot to unpack regarding the major plot twist and conflict points at the end of Ginny & Georgia Season 3. Georgia Is More Broken Than Ever Before

The tumultuous third season of Ginny & Georgia ended with Georgia reuniting with her two children. In the best plot twist in TV history, Georgia ended up walking away as a free woman. Wonder how someone goes from very likely serving life for murder to leaving court without any sentence? Well, leave it to Georgia Miller’s offspring and their lifetime of being raised by arguably the best con artist there is. Ginny and Austin’s involvement certainly came as a shock to Georgia as well, considering that she was extremely relieved and proud that her children didn’t turn out like her. Apart from being utterly relieved that she didn’t have to spend the rest of her life behind bars, Georgia didn’t return to a fairytale life. The viral trial left Georgia more broken than ever before, as it brought along numerous irreparable relationships and even some hidden dangers. Georgia’s very short marriage to Paul is definitely over after various ugly fights between her and her husband. Georgia’s nerve-wrecking trial took the newlyweds to the test, and it is needless to say that they failed to withstand the pressure. To be fair, Paul eventually realized that Georgia had killed a person (for the third time), and her new status as Mayoress Murderess was pulling him down with her. As the proud mayor of Wellsbury, he decided to cut ties with the sinking ship that was Georgia, and that was the bitter end of their fairytale love story. The fan-favorite character in Ginny & Georgia, Zion, broke Georgia’s trust when he called Child Protective Services on his ex and put her through the traumatic incident of having her children taken away from her during the trial. On top of this, he stopped being there for her, continuously judged her, and ended it off by also asking for shared custody after her release. It’s a fair point, but his timing is painfully bad.

The only one who always stood by her side and never truly judged her was Joe. While they shared some steamy time before and after Georgia’s jail time, in the final episode, she removed herself from the situation because she promised Ginny no more chaos. That being said, there will surely be a lot more chaos in Ginny & Georgia Season 4. In particular, because Georgia’s father, who tried to kill his wife and Georgia, keeps calling her from prison, and finally knows where she lives. When she picked up the phone in the final episode, the little girl who was nearly murdered seemed to surface for a second, showing that even Georgia Miller can only take so much.
Ginny Crossed a Major Line

Throughout the entire hit teen drama series, Ginny’s goal has been to be nothing like her mom. She often detested the way Georgia handled things and struggled with the aftermath of her mother’s (more often than not) illegal actions. Apart from their initial differences, Ginny is trying to figure out what to do about Georgia, while MANG is breaking apart due to their often toxic friendships and major secrets (classic high school drama, of course). Max is suffering alone as her brother, Marcus, is eventually sent off to rehab after admitting that he is struggling with his mental health in a touching moment that shines a light on depression. The final episode of Ginny & Georgia Season 3 shows a tremendous shift in Ginny’s behavior, which is slightly worrying. Ginny was the mastermind behind getting her mother out of jail. She told her brother to lie in court by making him choose between his protective mother and abusive father. Us against the rest of the world. Apart from using her brother, Ginny also blackmailed Cynthia in good old Georgia fashion.

When Georgia found out about Ginny’s morally dubious actions to save her from life imprisonment, she was shocked, worried, and maybe even slightly scared. After all this time of working against becoming like Georgia, Ginny has finally given in to what she has seen and grown up with all her life. The biggest issue, though, is that it isn’t only a dangerous path for Ginny, but she is also dragging Austin along with her and causing his mental health to deteriorate.
Austin Is Filled With Guilt and Confusion

At the end of the third season of the bingeworthy Netflix series, Austin is struggling significantly with everything he has been through. Not only did he witness his mother kill his best friend’s father, but Austin also wrongly accused his biological father, whom he started to enjoy spending time with, of the crime. Sure, the Netflix show highlights that Gil is a terrible person and deserves to be in prison for his violent nature, but the final episode ends with the Ginny & Georgia character being on the run and wanted for questioning regarding the suspicious murder of Tom Fuller. Austin is heartbroken by the fact that he put his father in this position, confused by the fact that he also wants to be with his mother and protect her from anything, even Gil, and maybe even scared of what his decision and the ongoing family drama might mean for his future. In this new season, it becomes clear that Austin doesn’t support Georgia’s murderous actions, even though Tom was terminally ill and already suffering daily. The young boy had moments where he might even agree that his mother should be held accountable for what she did, but someone of his age wasn’t equipped to process and fully understand such difficult topics. Even though Georgia is out of prison and free to wreak some havoc again (although she promised Ginny that she would change), her fate is still in Austin’s hands as well. He could always retract his statement if his dad convinces him or if he ends up suffering too much from all the lies. Watch out, because it’s not only one unpredictable Miller in Wellsbury anymore, but three. Ginny & Georgia is available to stream on Netflix.
