Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Gets Positive First Reactions

Aug 4, 2023

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is just around the corner, and the first reactions praise James Gunn’s possibly last project within the MCU now that he’s putting all his energy in developing a new canon with DC Studios. With this movie probably also being the last adventure of the team, there’s no doubt it’ll be an emotional journey for both the fans and the cast.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits is settling in Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by echoes of Rocket’s troubled past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around her on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life, a mission that, if not completed successfully, could lead to the end of the Guardians just as we know them.

The movie will also work as an introduction to one of the most anticipated characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter. Although he will play a small part in the plot, Warlock will have a bigger role in the franchise’s future, and fans can expect to see Poulter a few more times after this.

With the release getting closer, the first reactions have come out (mostly from overseas), and it seems that the audience can get ready for an epic adventure full of heart.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Is Filled with Emotion
Marvel Studios

Here are the first comments on what to expect from the movie:

“Our favorite band of misfits are back for an ultimate intergalactic adventure that keeps all its promises. A great show, an emotional lift that serves our hearts, a rhythmic soundtrack and a touch of humor that makes us smile.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the best of the trilogy, the most moving but also the most serious. The humor is there (and goes well), but the tone has changed. The fights are brutal, the VFX clean, and the AD cool. Adam Warlock is disappointing otherwise, but Chukwudi Iwuji in HE is great.”

“Cinema has revived. The closing of James Gunn’s trilogy with his Guardians of the Galaxy is an impressive and very emotional show. One of those that we had almost forgotten with Marvel and that is enjoyed here in stereo. And with effects to match! Truly the best since Endgame. They let Gunn cook to his liking, and boy did the menu turn out tasty. Guardians of the Galaxy 3, at times, enjoys itself as a blockbuster with a romantic soul… and then disguises itself as a Troma movie, or as a glam “Barbarella”, as it pleases. It’s a must, people. In the end, Guardians of the Galaxy triumphs because it is the respected vision, about the found family, of an author. Even if that author likes crazy set pieces, diegetic music and practical effects.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is hilarious, tremendously emotional and the roundest film in the saga. The James Gunn movies are the happy place to come back to in the MCU and Volume 3 is the perfect, hope-filled culmination for Marvel’s heartiest heroes.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has spectacular action set pieces, is fun, entertaining and emotional. It is a perfect and beautiful closure for its characters and the saga. And it’s the best Marvel movie since Endgame (and Top3 in general).”
