Haley Joel Osment Antisemitism Apology

Haley Joel Osment is apologizing for his recent public behavior.

In case you missed it, Haley was arrested on April 8 in California on suspicion of public intoxication. He was eventually charged with being under the influence of alcohol in public, as well as possession of cocaine.

In bodycam footage captured by the Mammoth Lakes Police Department, Haley can be heard telling the arresting officer that he was “kidnapped by a fucking Nazi.” “You’re torturing me,” he said. “I know who you are. I’ll never forget it.” He can also be heard saying, “You’ll wish you treated me nicer. Yes you will.” Later in the video, he uses an antisemitic slur toward the cop as well.

In a statement to People, Haley expressed contrition for his behavior. “I’m absolutely horrified by my behavior,” he said. “Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner.”

“The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place,” he added, gesturing toward the loss of his Altadena home in the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. “But that’s no excuse for using this disgusting word. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts.”

“What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage – I’ve let the Jewish community down and it devastates me. I don’t ask for anyone’s forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake.”
