Henry Cavill Does One More Ride As Geralt Of Rivia

Chaos is coming, Netflix says in the new trailer for “The Witcher” season three, which begins on June 29. But honestly, the most interesting thing about “The Witcher” might be the behind-the-scenes dramas. For one, Henry Cavill, the lead, who plays Geralt of Rivia, is leaving the show,  this is his final season, and he will transition out of the role, which will be taken by Liam Hemsworth.

But Cavill’s leaving is complex. For one, he had just announced his return as The Man Of Steel, aka Superman, in the DCEU. And then, with quelle coincidence timing, as soon as he was back as Superman, he announced he was leaving “The Witcher” series, and everyone noticed. But of course, then James Gunn became the new head of DC Studios, and he decided to essentially undo that decision and start over with a new Superman (he is writing and directing the upcoming “Superman: Legacy,” due in the summer of 2025).
But some very loud and constant rumors had it that Cavill was very unhappy with “The Witcher” series and how it deviated from the video game he loved so much (and frankly, Cavill intimated this as much himself several times).
So was he leaving “The Witcher” regardless, and Superman was just a suitable catalyst, and either way, he’s good now? Who knows.
Regardless, the third season of “The Witcher is being chopped up into two parts.
Volume 1 launches globally on June 29, and Volume 2 arrives on July 27 on Netflix. Volume 1 will include episodes 1-5, and Volume 2 will consist of episodes 6-8, released.

Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to uncover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.
