HRT Abduction Featured, Reviews Film Threat

Sep 23, 2024

Stanton Chong kicks a hornet’s nest of organized crime and terrorism in his action thriller series, HRT Abduction. Agent Jackson (James Michalopolous) is an FBI investigator. He is following a young man screaming about the end of the world, who leads him to an unassuming home in the suburbs. While surveilling the home, an apparent double date arrives at the front door with the promise of a good time. The front door quickly opens with two frightened women running for safety, followed by several masked gunmen.
Jackson calls for backup before heading into the basement. Nothing good happens in the basement when he stumbles on an extensive series of corridors and a frightening discovery.
HRT Abduction is all about action. Director/co-writer Chong manages to get a lot of exposition out in the first few minutes without ever having to have a drawn-out conversation about it. We’re here for the action, and Chong delivers with the help of fight coordinator Jaeson Lee.
“…before heading into the basement…stumbles on an extensive series of corridors and a frightening discovery.”
For an indie action series, HRT Abduction goes balls to the wall. Hand-to-hand, guns, knives, and buckets of blood—action dominates this tale. I know how hard it is to pull off action for indie filmmakers these days. Chong and Lee deliver intense action sequences, while cinematographer Jimmy Wu adds a distinctive stylistic flair.
This is the first of many episodes, and Chong has intrigued me about what will happen next. The FBI invasion of this unassuming home and its contents of human-trafficked immigrants masterfully sets the stage for a much larger conspiracy.
HRT Abduction kicks off Stanton Chong’s action-packed series with a bang, delivering a relentless mix of high-stakes intrigue and brutal combat. With tight pacing, non-stop action, and a sinister conspiracy, HRT Abduction pulls no punches. Looking for a no-frills, blood-soaked thrill ride? This is definitely one to watch.
