Inferno Squad’s Iden Versio Comes To Life In Stunning Star Wars Cosplay

Jul 12, 2023

A cosplayer has brought to life Inferno Squad’s Iden Versio, introduced in the campaign on 2017’s Star Wars: Battlefront II video game.

A Star Wars cosplayer set her creative targets on the video game world, bringing to life Iden Versio from Star Wars: Battlefront II. Introduced as the lead of the 2017 game’s campaign, Iden serves as Inferno Squad’s leader until defecting during Operation Cinder. With nowhere else to turn, Versio and her squad mate Del Meeko join the New Republic, becoming loyal to the cause that defeats their old Empire.

Kamui Cosplay assembled a perfect recreation of Iden Versio’s Inferno Squad uniform, at the time celebrating the release of Andor.

The cosplay nails the aesthetic of Versio’s unique armor, seamlessly translating the TIE helmet into real life. Her E-11 blaster is an excellent rendering of the weapon seen so often in the original Star Wars trilogy, completing the Imperial soldier’s look. While there is a strong resemblance to a dark side Leia, the Inferno Squad uniform and her style make for a close connection to Iden.

Will Iden Versio Appear In The Mandoverse?

It’s been six years since the biggest parts of Iden Versio’s story were told, but a 30-year gap in the timeline opens the door for new opportunities. Following the Battle of Jakku, Iden appeared to have settled down with Del and their child, Zay, but the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn could prompt her to join the action again. The New Republic is desperate need of competent commanders, and Iden’s experience is a valuable asset to Leia Organa and Hera Syndulla.

Making an appearance even more likely is actress Janina Gavankar’s friendship with Dave Filoni. Gavankar had a cameo in The Mandalorian season 2 and lent her voice to the role of Pav-ti, Ahsoka’s mother, in Tales of the Jedi episode 1. Bringing her into live-action for a new Iden adventure in the Star Wars galaxy would be the natural next step, for both the actress and the character’s story.
