The “Fallout” franchise is one of the most beloved in video game history. Not only is it just a solid franchise with amazing gameplay, but it’s also one of the most mythologically rich franchises in the medium. It’s a video game franchise, much like “The Last of Us,” which just begs to be told in live-action. Well, we’re soon going to find out what a “Fallout” series is like, thanks to the folks at Prime Video.

We are just about six months away from the premiere of “Fallout,” and the studio has released first-look images of the main actors in the show. The series is set to star Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins. In the images, we see that Purnell is clearly a vault-dweller and Goggins is what they call a ghoul. For those not familiar with “Fallout,” the series is a post-apocalyptic series set in an alternate United States where the dreams of an atomic future and nuclear energy came to life in the ‘50s but was quickly cut short by the next big world war. So, it’s post-apocalyptic, but in a world that is retro-futuristic. It’s unique, to say the least.

“Fallout” comes from the “Westworld” duo of Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan. And though their previous series was unceremoniously canceled and seemed to finish its run as shell of what it used to be, there’s still excitement that these two are working on “Fallout.” They clearly have a love of the franchise, and judging by the images, they’re sticking very close to the source material.
The first episode of “Fallout” is expected to arrive on April 12, 2024. You can look at the new images below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is executive produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy (Westworld) and stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight) and Aaron Moten (Emancipation). It will be premiering exclusively on Prime Video on April 12, 2024, in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
