Krysten Ritter New Sci-Fi Thriller Premieres June 23

It’s a new story, but it’s the same DNA. That’s the clever tag line for the new series “Orphan Black: Echoes,” a spin-off and continuation of the hit series, “Orphan Black” that starred and launched the career of Tatiana Maslany, now known as Marvel’s “She-Hulk.” Set some thirty years later, the series now stars Krysten Ritter, known for “Breaking Bad,” and the Marvel/Netflix series, “Jessica Jones.” Ritter also serves as executive producer and  sci-fi thriller will premiere on Sunday, June 23 at 10pm ET/PT on AMC and BBC AMERICA; available to stream on AMC+.

“Orphan Black: Echoes,” follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity. Ritter plays Maslany’s daughter,all grown up, three decades later.
“Orphan Black Echoes” also stars Keeley Hawes (“Bodyguard,” “It’s A Sin,” “Line of Duty”), Amanda Fix (“North of Normal,” “High School”), Avan Jogia (“Now Apocalypse,” “Zombieland: Double Tap”), Rya Kihlstedt (“A Teacher,” “One Mississippi”) and James Hiroyuki Liao (“Barry,” “The Dropout”).
Here’s the official synopsis:
Set in the near future, Orphan Black: Echoes takes a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal. Ritter plays Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin story, trying to find her place in the world.
“Orphan Black Echoes” was created by Anna Fishko (“Pieces of Her,” “The Society,” “Fear The Walking Dead”) , who also serves as the series’ showrunner, writer, and executive producer. John Fawcett, the co-creator of the original series, also directed 17 episodes across all five seasons, serving as director and executive producer. Additional exec producers include David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, Nick Nantell and Katie O’Connell Marsh and Kerry Appleyard.
The ”Orphan Black” story resumes in ‘Echoes’ on June 23. New episodes will air weekly on Sundays at 10pm ET/PT. Watch the new trailer below.
