Filmmaker Alma Har’el spoke with MovieWeb’s Greg Archer about her new series, Lady in the Lake. The Apple TV+ series that will premiere globally with the first two episodes on Friday, July 19, followed by new episodes every Friday through August 23.
Created and directed by Alma Har’el, it is based on Laura Lippman’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name. Taking place in 1960’s Baltimore, an unsolved murder pushes housewife and mother Maddie Schwartz (Natalie Portman) to reinvent her life as an investigative journalist and sets her on a collision course with Cleo Sherwood (Moses Ingram), a hardworking woman juggling motherhood, many jobs and a passionate commitment to advancing Baltimore’s Black progressive agenda.
