Lilo & Stitch Live-Action Trailer Is a Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride
Mar 13, 2025
A new generation is about to meet Experiment 626.
In the new trailer for Disney’s upcoming Lilo & Stitch live-action remake, the titular characters cross paths after alien experiment Stitch (voiced by Chris Sanders) crash lands on Earth and poses as a dog, leading young Hawaiian misfit Lilo (played by Maia Kealoha) to adopt him as part of her ohana.
“Ohana means family,” she tells her older sister and legal guardian Nani (portrayed by Sydney Agudong). “Family means nobody gets left behind.”
The teaser also offered a first look at Dr. Jumba Jookiba and Agent Pleakley, the unlikely alien duo sent to Earth to capture the fugitive Stitch. Unlike in the 2002 original, where the characters used disguises to conceal their identity, they’re portrayed in the live-action version as “human” holograms played by Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen, respectively.
Meanwhile, Courtney B. Vance takes over the iconic role of Agent Cobra Bubbles, a social worker overseeing Lilo’s guardianship who unwittingly joins the hunt for the mischievous “blue dog.”
