May 20, 2024
It feels like we’ve been talking about the new version of “Time Bandits” for years now. Well, as a matter of fact, it was way back in 2018 (remember the good ol’ days pre-COVID?) when it was reported that Apple TV+ was doing a series based on Terry Gilliam’s sci-fi film. Now, as we approach the summer, we’re finally getting our first look at what the new “Time Bandits” will look like.

Thanks to EW, we have a first-look photo from “Time Bandits,” the new Apple TV+ series from co-creators Taika Waitit, Jemaine Clement, and Iain Morris. The series follows the story of a young boy, who happens to be a history nerd, as he travels through time with a band of thieves.
The series stars Lisa Kudrow, Kal-El Tuck, Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rune Temte, Kiera Thompson, Rachel House, Matt King, George Houvardas, Zoe Ventoura, and Charlyne Yi. In an interview with EW, Taika Waititi talked about how there are going to be some surprises to be found in the cast of “Time Bandits.”
“I loved working with the cast and all the actors that we got in,” he explained. “We have repeat actors who change roles throughout the different episodes. They have that in the film as well. It’s kind of the ‘Monty Python’ thing, where people come back and play a different character.”
“Time Bandits” is finally going to arrive on Apple TV+ on July 24. You can see the first look photo below:
