Lucasfilm Unveils New Footage And An August Release Date For Its Latest ‘Star Wars’ Series

For months now, we’ve known a series led by “Star Wars” fan-favorite, Ahsoka Tano, was coming to Disney+. Several weeks ago, we saw the first full trailer for the series. And now, we’re finally getting a confirmed release date, which puts the new live-action “Star Wars” series right at the end of the summer.

As seen in the new TV spot for “Ahsoka,” the show picks up with the character after her appearance in “The Mandalorian” and the animated “Star Wars Rebels,” as she continues her mission to oppose the villainous Thrawn. This series has been highly anticipated by “Star Wars” fans, especially those who enjoy the animated shows, because it looks like yet another Jedi-focused story with one of the most beloved characters in the galaxy far, far away.
The series stars Rosario Dawson as the title character. She’s joined in the cast by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. “Ahsoka” is written and showrun by “Star Wars” veteran, Dave Filoni.
