Marvel Celebrates ‘Hawkeye’ Physical Release With a Deleted Scene
Dec 4, 2024
Nearly three years after its premiere on Disney+, Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye is making a triumphant return this Christmas season, with the release of physical media on a 4K UHD set scheduled to hit shelves on December 2, 2024. However, this is simply not what draws the purchaser in, but rather an intriguing deleted scene from Hawkeye.
Hawkeye, released in 2021, follows the former Avenger Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), who is seemingly desperate to get back to his family for Christmas. However, following an encounter with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a teenage archer inspired by Barton’s feats, they both become embroiled in a murder mystery, making his situation more critical.
According to The Wrap, which exclusively reported the news, the new 4K UHD set includes behind-the-scenes footage, a documentary, outtakes, and an abundance of deleted scenes, one of which was released on Marvel Studios’ official YouTube channel a few days ago.
In the sequence, Clint and Kate hide in an old lady’s apartment from their pursuers, hoping to wait until the mayhem settles down. However, the rattling sound of someone opening the door with keys makes them vigilant, leading Clint to prepare for what’s to come. Much to their surprise, it’s none other than the apartment’s elderly lady, armed with a cane and accompanied by her cat. Unfazed by their presence, she fearlessly chases them out of the room, proving that she’s not afraid of the unlikely duo, whom she deems robbers.
Will There Be Hawkeye Season 2?
Hawkeye physical 4K UHD isn’t arriving alone, as Loki Season 2 will also be released on the same day, with its own exclusive content. It’s also why a deleted scene from Loki Season 2 was released recently, in which Loki (Tom Hiddleston) recalls how many people blamed him for all the problems while sharing a nice slice of key lime pie with his friend Mobius (Owen Wilson).
In addition, two more Disney+ series from the Star Wars franchise will be released in physical copy in 4K UHD on Dec. 3, including Ahsoka, another well-written sci-fi by Dave Filoni, and The Mandalorian Season 2, which told the subtle difference between reproducing and recapturing the essence of Star Wars.

The unveiling of Hawkeye’s physical media brought about not only exciting content for fans but also optimistic news regarding a potential second season. According to Cosmic Circus, production of Hawkeye Season 2 began in September, though Marvel Studios – or anyone else – has yet to confirm that news officially.
Nonetheless, rumors suggest that Marvel will take its time producing any future shows for Disney+, so it is likely that any second season would not be expected to stream for at least a couple of years. As a result, we should be prepared for the worst, where the premiere date could be pushed back as far as 2027, leaving a significant gap between the two seasons.
With Young Avengers now being discussed as a new project, Hailee Steinfeld could well be a part of it, especially given her potential for a larger role in the MCU. So, we can only wait and see until Marvel shares additional details on Hawkeye’s possible return for Season 2.
