Multiple DC Animated Movies Added to Tubi Streaming for Free
Jan 13, 2025
While James Gunn’s first official entry in the new DC Universe – the animated Creature Commandos – is dominating the Max streaming service, DC animated movies of yesteryear have moved over to a popular free streamer. And they’re among some of the franchise’s best.
Marvel Studios has led the live-action film space over the last decade-plus, but DC has long held the front line in the animated medium. The DCAU (DC Animated Universe) features dozens of standalone and interlinked movies, adapting some of the most popular DC Comics stories of all time.
Over a dozen animated DC movies have landed on the Tubi streaming service for free. The list of new additions includes old classics like Superman: Doomsday (released in 2007), and newer favorites, like Constantine: City of Demons (2018). The full list of titles added to the platform is astounding, and would be twice the length of this article.
Some of the best films added to Tubi include Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam, Justice League: War, Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Justice League: Gods and Monsters, and Justice League: The New Frontier.
The beauty of the DCAU is its ability to (mostly) faithfully adapt beloved comic book storylines, because it isn’t dependent on actors getting in superhero shape or signing multi-picture contracts for live-action films. As a result, the DCAU isn’t restricted by what characters it can include, and features everyone from Batman to Calander Man.
Ahead of the DC Universe’s reboot, the DCAU is the perfect way for new fans to dip their toes into the DC Comics back catalog, without spending a fortune on physical or digital comic books. Want to know what the 2005 Keanu Reeves Constantine movie should have looked like? Check out Constantine: City of Demons. Or, if you want something more light-hearted, then why not watch Justice Society: World War II.
‘All-Star Superman’ is Now Streaming Free on Tubi
As well as the aforementioned movies, Tubi is also now the host of the animated All-Star Superman film. What makes All-Star Superman unique, I’m pretending to hear you ask? Well, it’s the major inspiration behind Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie. The new live-action film will star David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. Gunn appears to be leaning into the Blue Boy Scout moniker, as his film appears to be a brightly saturated, optimistic take on the character, much like the Christopher Reeve version.

James Gunn confirms that the DCU will have its own Dark Knight.
Released in 2011, the animated All-Star Superman adapts the eponymous comic book run of the same name by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. The film sees Supes reaching the end of his life after overdosing on the sun’s radiation. While Superman wants to meet a peaceful end, Lex Luthor’s evil plans challenge his goal, and Clark Kent must suit up one more time to stop him. All-Star Superman is directed by Sam Liu, who oversaw multiple DCAU movies (including this writer’s personal favorite, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract). Gunn’s Superman is currently slated to be released on July 11, 2025.
