New World Order Set Images
Jul 26, 2023
The Incredible Hulk star Liv Tyler has been spotted on set of the upcoming MCU sequel, Captain America: New World Order. Following reports that Tyler will rejoin the Marvel fray as Betty Ross, the actress has now been seen filming alongside Anthony Mackie, Xosha Roquemore, and Shira Haas, with images of her return being shared by the Daily Mail and across social media. Check out the images from Captain America: New World Order below.
The images seemingly find Betty Ross and Sam Wilson at a funeral, with the new Captain America already feeling the brunt of being a superhero with no superpowers as he nurses his arm in a sling. Details regarding the plot of Captain America: New World Order are pretty thin on the ground at present, though it is expected that the movie will build upon and continue the events seen in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, exploring how taking on the mantle of Captain America has affected Sam Wilson.
Anthony Mackie will reprise the role of Sam Wilson aka Captain America, with Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly set to reprise their respective roles of Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The Captain America sequel is also shaping up to be something of an Incredible Hulk reunion, with Tim Blake Nelson all set to reprise the role of Samuel Sterns aka The Leader alongside Liv Tyler as Betty Ross. The last audiences saw of Sterns, he had just begun to mutate after some of Bruce Banner’s blood drips into a wound on his head. For Marvel Comics fans, this was a major hint that Sterns will indeed transform into The Leader, a supervillain with green skin, a giant cranium, super-intelligence and telekinesis. And we have waited 15 years for that hint to come into play.

Captain America: New World Order Adds Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross
Marvel / DisneyWarner Bros.
As well as bringing Liv Tyler back as Betty, Captain America: New World Order will add Hollywood icon Harrison Ford to the MCU as her father, Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Taking over the role from the late, great William Hurt, Thunderbolt Ross will have undergone some major career changes since last we saw him, with the ruthless general now President of these United States.
“This is certainly a big part for Thaddeus Ross. He’s the president of the United States in the film,” Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige revealed recently before teasing the dynamic between Ross and Anthony Mackie’s Captain America. “And with Harrison, you think about Air Force One, and you think about some of his confrontations with the president in Clear and Present Danger. There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is just incredible.”
Directed by Julius Onah and written by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, Captain America: New World Order is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 3, 2024, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
