Selena Gomez’s Odd Dating Habit With Benny Blanco

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are sharing their love story with the world, and now they’re giving a little insight into their relationship when their romance first began.

The couple, who recently released a collaborative album together called I Said I Love You First, were guests on the Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware podcast, where they dished about their first kiss, first date jitters, and more.

In the middle of the conversation, the famed producer shared an innocent tidbit about what Selena would do before their dates, and how she had no idea that he could see her doing it.

“Selena’s so insane that when we first started going out on dates, she was so obsessed with being on time,” Benny said. “She used to pull up to my house, minimum 20 minutes early, maybe 30 minutes early, and she would wait outside.”

“But she didn’t realize that my cameras could see down the street, and her car would just be parked outside for, like, 30 minutes, and she would just wait until it was time to come in.”

Selena admitted they’ve never told that story out loud, at least not with the media. And although she can laugh about it now, at the time, she revealed she was extremely nervous.

“It’s just, I don’t know,” Selena added. “I was nervous that I really liked him and I wanted to get there and, like, maybe call a friend to pump me up or do my makeup again or something.”

But despite having a wonderful time on the date, Selena still couldn’t shake her nerves. And even if she did attempt to hide it, unfortunately, the emotion showed all over her face.

“Towards the end of the date, we were just sitting in the living room on the couch and we were playing We’re Not Really Strangers,” Benny continued. “And there was a thing where it said, ‘Take a selfie with the person next to you,’ and she got right on my chest and took a selfie. And then right after, I just looked at her and I said, ‘I gotta kiss this girl.’ I kissed her right away, and her heart started beating so quickly, and she started getting a rash on her face…she was so nervous.”

“So some kisses are for fun, and then when you feel something behind a kiss, it’s completely different.” She continued, “And I’d been alone for about five years, with the exception of a few shitty dates here and there, but never felt that way. And I was a little embarrassed.”

When this interview hit the internet, people had mixed reactions to Selena’s take on punctuality:

I’m sorry, but the blushing and smiling from ear-to-ear that they were doing was too stinking cute! If it made her feel comfortable, and ultimately worked out for both of them in the end, then that’s all that matters.
