Star Wars fans are loving the latest series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which is a series that is heavily inspired by the Amblin films of the ‘80s, specifically The Goonies. The Force is strong with this series as it has a Rotten Tomatoes score that is higher than almost every Star Wars film and show that has come before it.Skeleton Crew currently has a 95 percent “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s higher than all three seasons of The Mandalorian, which scored 93 percent for its first two seasons and 85 percent for its third. Skeleton Crew is also doing better critically than almost every other live-action Star Wars series. It has a higher score than Ahsoka (86%), Obi-Wan Kenobi (82%, The Acolyte (78%), and The Book of Boba Fett (66%). It is tied with Andor which also has 96%. It also ranks higher than all of the Star Wars movies released theatrically since 1977. 1980’s Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back has a 95% rating. 1977’s A New Hope and 2015’s The Force Awakens tie for second place at 93%, then there’s the 2017 movie The Last Jedi at 91%.As for the rest of the Star Wars projects, 2015’s Rogue One, 1983’s Return of the Jedi, and 2005’s Revenge of the Sith received at 84%, 82% and 80%.2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story sits at 69%, while 2002’s Attack of the Clones has 65%. 1999’s The Phantom Menace has 52%, which is just above 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker at 51%. The worst-rated Star Wars movie is 2008’s animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which is at 15%.As for the animated Star Wars shows, it didn’t beat Star Wars: Rebels, which has a 98% rating. But it does beat out The Clone Wars, which has a 93% rating and The Bad Bach at 88%.I’ve enjoyed Skeleton Crew! I had a blast watching those first two episodes and I’m excited to see how the story continues to play out! I’m happy to see that fans and critics are loving it!Skeleton Crew is a Goonies-inspired Amblin-style Star Wars series that follows the journey of four kids “who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law. “Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”The series was created by Jon Watts (Spider-Man) and it also stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith. The episodes in the show will be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, The Daniels, David Lowery, Jake Schreier, and Lee Isaac Chung.
