Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Deleted Scene Reveals Jim Carrey’s Ivo Robotnik Is A Live-Streamer
Jan 21, 2025
A deleted scene from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 reveals that Ivo Robotnik is a live-streamer. The story of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 follows Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, who take on Shadow, Ivo, and his grandfather, Gerald Robotnik. The cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 includes Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, Keanu Reeves, Idris Elba, James Marsden, and Tika Sumpter. Carrey’s cartoonish Ivo Robotnik has always been a standout villain in the Sonic movies, but he perhaps gets his best storyline yet in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
Entertainment Weekly has released a deleted scene from Sonic the Hedgehog 3, in which Ivo Robotnik starts a live-stream for his fans. The scene takes place while Ivo, Gerald, Shadow, and Agent Stone are in London. For the live-stream, Ivo goes by the name “Huevo Diablo” and refers to his viewers as “Egg Heads.” The end of the scene cuts to Agent Stone, who is continuously tapping the like button for his boss.
Why Ivo Robotnik’s Live-Streaming Scene Was Cut Out Of Sonic 3
Ivo’s Deleted Live-Streaming Scene Is Funny But Not Necessary
Carrey’s Ivo Robotnik has always been a standout character in the Sonic series, but the actor got to take things to a new level in Sonic 3 since he played two characters. The storyline between Ivo and Gerald Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is amazing. Even though Ivo eventually betrays Gerald at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, this deleted scene takes place while they are still working together.
If the live-streaming scene was included, there is a chance it would have slowed down the pacing of Sonic 3, which wouldn’t have been ideal.
The live-streaming scene is very funny, but it is not surprising that it was cut out of the movie. Ultimately, this scene doesn’t add a lot to the story of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It mostly acts as a funny moment and also further develops the admiration Agent Stone has for Ivo Robotnik. If the live-streaming scene was included, there is a chance it would have slowed down the pacing of Sonic 3, which wouldn’t have been ideal.
Our Take On Ivo Robotnik’s Cut Live-Streaming Scene In Sonic 3
Jim Carrey Already Gets A Lot Of Screen Time In Sonic The Hedgehog 3
Even though the live-streaming scene doesn’t further develop Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s story, it is a funny scene during which Carrey gets to act very goofy. However, Carrey already gets a lot of screen time in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Therefore, if director Jeff Fowler decided to cut the live-streaming scene out, then it is probably for the best. Luckily, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 features plenty of other hilarious moments.
