An animated Ghostbusters film was announced a couple of years ago and have been in development with Sony Animation, Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan.We’ve now learned that the film will be going to Netflix, which is also where the Ghostbusters animated series is being developed. It was also announced that Kris Pearn (Cloudy with a Chancer of Meatballs 2) is attached to direct the film.When previously talking about the film, Kenan shared some information, saying that, “The animated film will take us to places that we’ve never been before.””We love these characters, and we’re so excited to push the boundaries of what we think of as a Ghostbusters story. We will keep the flame burning bright with all these concepts, which will continue to grow what a Ghostbusters story can be.”Reitman added: “An animated series and an animated film will allow us to go deeper into places that Dan Aykroyd talked about when he first talked about Ghostbusters.”Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it will be interesting to see how the world of the Ghostbusters will be explored in these animated projects.
