‘The Substance,’ ‘Wicked,’ And ‘Agatha All Along’ Earn 2025 Costume Designer Guild Awards Nominations
Dec 16, 2024
If any Hollywood guild has taste, it’s usually the Costume Designer’s Guild. Their annual Costume Designer Guild Awards nominees often reflect the best of their members (and future members) work. This year, the organization has nominated films such as “Challengers,” “The Substance,” “Wicked,” “Nosferatu” and even, yes, “Borderlands,” in three film categories. On the television side, “Agatha All Along,” “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans,” “Fallout” and the final season of “We’re Here” were recognized.

Thanks to their Excellence in Costume Illustration category, introduced a year ago, two television programs, “Agatha” and “Shogun” earned two CDG nominations this year.
Notable snubs on the film side included “The Brutalist,” “Blitz,” “The Piano Lesson,” “A Complete Unknown,” and “Queer.” Overlooked television runways included “Disclaimer,” “The Penguin,” “Masters of the Air,” “Mary & George,” “The Sympathizer,” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”
The CDG Award will be handed out on February 6 at The Ebell Theater in Los Angeles.
