Violent DiCaprio & De Niro Movie Is Turning Point For America
Jul 9, 2023
A new trailer for Killers of the Flower Moon reveals more about the Leonardo DiCaprio-led crime drama. Based on the 2017 book of the same name, Killers of the Flower Moon centers on murders within the Osage Nation during the 1920s. The film also stars Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Brendan Fraser, Jesse Plemons, and John Lithgow, among many others in its ensemble cast.
Now, Apple TV has released a new trailer for Killers of the Flower Moon, revealing more about the Martin Scorsese-directed movie. Check it out below:
The trailer expands on the series of murders committed on Osage land when it was discovered the land was rich with oil. The trailer also introduced Plemons as real-life figure Tom White, an investigator for the BOI, an early version of the United States’ FBI.
Everything We Know About Killers Of The Flower Moon
In addition, the Killers of the Flower Moon trailer showcases the romance between DiCaprio’s Ernest Burkhart and Gladstone’s Mollie Burkhart. Many murders are also shown throughout the trailer, no doubt dramatizations of the real-life Osage murders. Ernest can also be seen looking in horror at an explosion, showing just how brutal the conflict surrounding oil on Osage land became.
While Killers of the Flower Moon is based on a true story, DiCaprio’s character doesn’t exist in real life. This adds to the level of dramatization Scorsese will be presenting in the film despite its depiction of real events. Boasting a runtime of 3 hours and 26 minutes, though, it seems Killers of the Flower Moon will be a highly-detailed look at one of the first cases investigated by the newly formed BOI.
Scorsese’s work with DiCaprio on films such as The Departed and The Wolf of Wall Street means their collaboration on Killers of the Flower Moon will likely be just as critically praised as their other movies together. De Niro has frequently collaborated with Scorsese as well, most recently starring in The Irishman. Given the talent both onscreen and behind the camera, it seems Killers of the Flower Moon is set to be another successful venture by Scorsese.
