What Happens Inside Enola at Walsall Scare Maze?
Dec 24, 2023
What happens in ENOLA should really stay in ENOLA but without spoilers we’re going to give you a review of what happens inside the Walsall Scare Maze extreme add-on as guests step into their very own sick and twisted horror movie.
Nothing says Christmas quite like scare mazes and uncharge waiver-signed experiences that will make even the diehard scarelover quiver in fear before signing.
Welcome to ENOLA at Walsall Scare Maze as this new uncharged experience will have you crawling, confused, minus clothing and either laughing, cringing or crying all the way through.
This particular attraction is not for the faint hearted or the person who has been to Alton Towers Scarefest once and thought it was tame, this is a hardcore scare attraction by UK standards.
UK mazes are usually so very tame and even the extreme waiver signed experiences are tame compared to what you’d expect to witness overseas.
Things are very much different in this maze as you’ll be subjected to waxing, shaving, holding your breath, electric shocks and more.
Various scenes are crafted as you enter ENOLA (ALONE spelled backwards) which has been themed around a clinic, you hand in your waiver (it’s lengthy and genuinely terrifying to read) and away you go. What I will say is that the waiver has been crafted to cover them from all eventualities so it reads much worse than the actual experience with words like death, disfigurement etc all mentioned but as long as you don’t suffer from the medical conditions listed in the waiver I think you’ll be fine.
The story revolves around you and you’ve just been injected with an experimental drug that has side effects, you then go through various rooms which tackle numerous emotions and fears. Not everyone comes out the same at the end and the attraction is designed to make you feel embarrassed over scared.
Safe to say I felt relaxed throughout apart from the electric shock chair which definitely had a kick followed by something that happened after that was actually rather painful (even more so than the chair!)
I found the experience, quite tame, but (and it’s a big but) I’m a bit twisted and I’ve done so many of these things now that I feel somewhat immune!
It’s far from scary, in fact ENOLA is quite funny as you’re put into some of the weirdest experiences you’re ever likely to encounter at a UK scare attraction.
What I loved about the experience is how each room was a different task that targeted various themes. From eating to uncomfortable to comedy and degrading acts you’re really put through the ringer inside the experience but what I noticed as I went through was how amazingly themed everything was!
Yes, even throughout me supposedly being tortured from room to room there I was admiring all the theming and effort!
Usually with mazes like this they make them as basic as possible and don’t really bother with theming as its just the disgusting acts / tasks you’re doing that make up the experience whereas this one feels permanent and looks wonderful!
The experience is split up into numerous scenes and if you didn’t want to participate in any scene you can say the safe word MERCY and they’ll move you onto the next scene. I loved this for people because normally you would be ejected from the experience at any other attraction whereas this one just moved you to the next room where you can then decide to continue or say the safe word again.
Following the story even if you say the safe word multiple times still gives you that value for money and experience of the maze without being affected or involved in it entirely (if that makes sense).
Some cool transitions into new rooms (including a clever sofa) were certainly some highlights but coming out the maze covered in wax strips stuck to me, back of my head shaved and wearing nothing but my boxers (they didn’t even clingfilm me like they did with everyone else) is certainly something I won’t forget anytime soon as I was laughing from start to finish like the maniac I am.
I didn’t say the safe word once so why not be brave and step foot inside what is easily the UK’s most weird and twisted scare maze experience by a long country mile.

Anaconda Review | Flickreel
To some, the original Anaconda is a 90s cult classic. To others, it’s a so bad, it’s good guilty pleasure. To me, it’s just a bad movie. Not awful, but as weird as it sounds, Anaconda wasn’t quite over-the-top enough…
