Witness The Creation Of The Bene Gesserit In Max’s Spinoff Series

There’s no denying that “Dune” is a hot franchise, at the moment. Thanks to two incredible films, retelling the story of Frank Herbert’s iconic novel, there are more fans of “Dune” than ever before. Sounds like a good time to expand that franchise, huh?

As seen in the teaser for “Dune: Prophecy,” the first spinoff goes back in time 10,000 years to showcase the birth of the Bene Gesserit. For those who don’t know, the Bene Gesserit are a network of trained women who have mastered tips and tools that can be very valuable in politics. The series aims to show what would happen when this group of women gets its first major political victory–a wedding that would put a member of the group on the throne.
The series features an ensemble cast including Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jihae, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.
“Dune: Prophecy” is set to debut on Max this fall. You can watch the teaser below.

From the expansive universe of “Dune,” created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, DUNE: PROPHECY follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. DUNE: PROPHECY is inspired by the novel SISTERHOOD OF DUNE, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
