Jun 5, 2025

While June TV is on the quieter side, the film slate is picking up with some major releases heading for theaters. From the latest in the “John Wick” universe to a new original Pixar film and Brad Pitt teaming up with the director of “Top Gun: Maverick,” the beginning of summer looks like an ideally busy season.
Some festival favorites also hit theaters, such as “The Life of Chuck” and “Sorry, Baby,” which made their premieres at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, respectively. A broad spectrum of releases is headed our way, from true-blue 90s-inspired romances to significant action set pieces and easy entertainment for families.

“The Ritual”Al Pacino and Dan Stevens star in the horror film “The Ritual” from director David Midell. Abigail Cowen and Ashley Greene also star. Release Date: In theaters June 6 via XYZ Films.

“The Life of Chuck”Directed by horror series favorite Mike Flannigan (“The Haunting of Hill House,” “Midnight Mass”) and based on one of Stephen King’s rare, non-horror short stories, comes “The Life of Chuck.” Tom Hiddleston stars as the titular character, and the film follows his life in reverse order to demonstrate his profound effect on those around him.
