Charlie Cox is Back as Matt Murdock on Daredevil: Born Again Set
Jul 15, 2023
Charlie Cox is set to make his triumphant return as Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again, The Man Without Fear’s definitive MCU debut, following brief appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Filming for the show began a few days ago, with the announcement that Jon Bernthal will also return as his character from the Netflix show Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. Additionally, he revealed that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson would not return to play Matt’s co-stars Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. It is still unknown if the characters will be part of the series with new actors or simply not appear.
Now, thanks to Daredevil Updates, we have a new look at Cox in his complete Murdock look alongside Nikki M. James, who is part of the cast, although no information has been given as to which character he’ll be playing:
Another essential actor who will be part of the series is Vincent D’Onofrio, who was already part of the MCU in the Hawkeye series and will soon participate as the main villain of Echo. Wilson Fisk is one of Daredevil’s most iconic enemies, and his showdown with Cox’s Murdock on the Netflix show is still remembered today as one of his best.

The Daredevil: Born Again Comic
Marvel Comics
Although we know that Marvel Studios usually takes certain liberties when bringing comics to the screen and that the title Born Again surely makes more reference to the “new birth” of the character played by the same actor, there is reference material that the Studios could use.
Written by Frank Miller, the story arc that bears the same name in the series shows us a reality where Karen is Matt’s ex-girlfriend and sells the hero’s identity in exchange for drugs. With this information, Wilson Fisk uses his influence to gradually destroy his enemy. First, by freezing his accounts, then by having the bank seize his apartment, and to top it all off, he gets accused of perjury, for which he is disqualified from practicing as a lawyer.
Evicted, homeless, and penniless, Murdock reaches a point where he has mistaken reality for fantasy, thinking that his old ally Foggy and his wife Gloria O’Breen are concocting his misfortune. Thus, Matt must be reborn from his ashes to re-emerge as the savior of Hell’s Kitchen.
