Kathy Bates & Maggie Smith’s Getaway Is Interrupted By An Unwelcome Guest In The Miracle Club Clip [EXCLUSIVE]

Jul 17, 2023

A group of women from different generations find the opportunity for a new life in an exclusive The Miracle Club clip. Set in 1967, the movie centers on four women from a hard-knock community in Dublin, Ireland who take a chance on a lucrative pilgrimage to Lourdes, France with the help of their priest to help with the sick and disabled pilgrims in town, only for the inclusion of a woman from the U.S. to reopen their old wounds. Kathy Bates and Maggie Smith lead the star-studded cast of The Miracle Club alongside Laura Linney, Agnes O’Casey and Stephen Rhea.

Ahead of its theatrical release, Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive The Miracle Club clip.

The video, as seen above, introduces audiences to Bates’ Eileen and Smith’s Lily as they eagerly board the bus to head to Lourdes. Their excitement is quickly dampened when the bus comes to a screeching halt as Linney’s Chrissie blocks the road in order to join the trip, with Eileen and Lily very visibly perturbed by the unwelcome guest.

The Miracle Club Can Continue An Impressive Cast Win Streak

Hitting theaters July 14, The Miracle Club not only features a star-studded roster, but a cast that is currently on an impressive win streak. Bates, who holds one Oscar win and three additional nominations through her career, has enjoyed consecutive critical hits since her last nod with Richard Jewell, namely that of the Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret. adaptation, which holds a rare 99 percent “Certified Fresh” approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Similarly, Smith has two Oscar wins under her belt and in the time since the Harry Potter franchise’s ending found further critical acclaim with her work in the Downton Abbey franchise, including both movie expansions of the show. Even with a three-year gap between movie releases, Linney has remained a household name with her work both in front of and behind the camera on Netflix’s Ozark, for which she garnered three Emmy nominations.

With a versatile roster of talented performers behind it, it will be interesting to see if The Miracle Club can continue the cast’s impressive win streak with critics. Having already made its debut at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, the comedy sits at a 67 percent approval rating at the time of writing, making for a promising start that the score could grow in the lead-up to and following its theatrical premiere from Sony Pictures Classics.
