Tim Roth’s return as Abomination was one of the highlights of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4, but how likely is it that we will see him returning to reprise the role again in future. While speaking to Screen Rant, Roth addressed his possible MCU future and how there is one upcoming R-rated Marvel movie that he would love to see Abomination drop in on. He said:

“I have no idea if they have anything planned. I’d be very happy to drop right into Deadpool. I would love that! [Chuckles] I enjoyed [She-Hulk: Attorney at Law], I was very surprised when they came along, and I definitely enjoyed it, so wherever they take me, it’s fine, as long as you get to play.”

Tim Roth’s Abomination, the alter-ego of soldier Emile Blonsky, was originally seen in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk alongside Edward Norton’s version of the angry green Avenger. With more than a decade passing without any sign or suggestion that the character was even considered to be a factor in the MCU any longer, his return in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a big surprise – at least for anyone who didn’t see the trailer give-away or read any spoilers. His short cameo in the movie then set up his appearance in Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, in which he turned up to be defended by Jennifer Walters in court.

Will Tim Roth’s Abomination Have Another Role To Play in the MCU?

Having been seen in full monstrous form in The Incredible Hulk and in comical form in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the real question now is where could Emile Blonsky aka Abomination actually fit into the MCU for another appearance. So far, the character’s main appearances have all been linked to “Hulk” stories, as even his Shang-Chi appearance was to directly set up is incarcerated status as seen in She-Hulk.

Blonsky may have seemingly left behind his overly villainous ways and is now settled at Kamar-Taj an that could set up a number of opportunities for him to make further appearances in the franchise. As well as the possibility of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk getting his own movie, which could bring back Abomination, there are others such as Doctor Strange 3, or any of the upcoming Avengers movies that could also utilize the character for a specific purpose. When it comes to the world of comic books, characters like Blonsky drop in an out of narratives all of the time, and he could have similar inconsequential but nice to see roles in the coming years.

For now, fans can see Roth’s latest MCU appearances in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+, but you may have to look further afield to track down his first role in The Incredible Hulk thanks to those pesky copyright issues.
