The Marvels Teaser Trailer Sets Brie Larson on a New Cosmic Adventure

Jul 31, 2023

Having originally been teased to arrive during this year’s Super Bowl, the first look teaser for The Marvels has finally arrived. Headed up by the MCU trio of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Paris’ Monica Rambeau the cosmic adventure has been delayed a number of times until it finally settled on a release date of November 10. Now the first teaser has finally given an idea of the adventure awaiting the trio of heroines later this year. Check it out below.

The Marvels is one of only three Marvel movies released this year and will follow the May release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in the MCU slate. There have already been rumors around where the new adventure will take Carol Danvers, and Brie Larson herself has previously teased a “bonkers” sequel. She said:

“I feel it’s like, I wish I could talk about it. I can talk about my feelings around it. I can say that… I can’t say enough about how incredible our director, Nia DaCosta, is and what an honor it was to work with her, what an immense talent she is, how much I just feel like she’s the future. And I could also say that, when I read the script for the first time, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I was like, this is bonkers.”

Brie Larson Has Praised Marvel Studios For Its Evolving Cinematic Landscape
Marvel Studios

While there have been plenty of criticisms of Marvel Studios, Brie Larson has plenty of praise for the studio and how it has continued to bring new stories to the big and small screen in ways that may have previously been impossible. She said:

“And it’s the thing that I love about Marvel, is that they continue to reinvent. They continue to do the thing that you just would never think would be possible in these films. And they’re not afraid to go there. So I’m super excited about what we did. I think there are some huge personal achievements of mine that I’m really excited about sharing, but you know, it’s fun to have a bit of a secret. And it’s fun to know that, when this film comes out, people are going to be delighted. And I get to keep that to myself for a little bit longer.”

The Marvels may have simply started out as Captain Marvel 2, but that changed when details about the movie began to be slowly revealed by Marvel Studios last year. The inclusion of Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau and the change in name to The Marvels gave the movie a much more collaborative feel, and recent details about the plot revolving around the kind of body switching seen in the post-credits scene of the Disney+ Ms. Marvel series means that Brie Larson will not be carrying the movie alone.

More plot details will be revealed soon, and with a near six month wait between the next two Marvel releases, the short break could be just right to get fans ready for another big MCU adventure by the time The Marvels is released on November 10, 2023.
