She-Hulk Star Teases MCU Return; “I Think The Internet Knows More Than I Do.”

Aug 1, 2023

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law brought something new to the MCU; a nine-episode legal comedy that maybe didn’t always hit the mark for many fans but managed to include many set-ups and teases of other MCU projects while telling its own story. Tatiana Maslany, who appeared as the titular Marvel hero, recently addressed whether she will return to the franchise anytime soon. Although she doesn’t seem to know one way or the other, she does feel there is plenty of room for her story to continue. She told Gold Derby on YouTube:

“I truly have no idea and I feel like the internet knows more than I do. But I would love to. I’d love to see what… I’d love to put her—as we had so many other actors come to our show and tonally shift their character, put him or her in a totally different scenario, a different universe, which is so fun about the Marvel Universe is that… there’s a Multiverse. I don’t know if you’re aware (laughing), but there is a Multiverse. But it’s like, yeah, putting her in a situation that is very unlikely. I think that would be super fun, just because the thing about She-Hulk to me is that she’s so out of place and that out of placeness I think has a lot of—it’s got legs.”

She-Hulk’s Comedy-Based Series Made Future Appearances Tricky
Disney Platform Distribution

Even before the series arrived, Kevin Feige said in many interviews that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was unlike any other MCU series and would bring many different things to the franchise as another “experiment” of the Disney+ era of the MCU. That certainly proved to be true, but while the show ended up being the springboard for Daredevil’s return to the Marvel world, introduced the son of Hulk, and saw appearances by other characters such as Wong and Emile Blonsky, the tone of the show was much different to any other MCU project – at least until Thor: Love and Thunder arrived.

The question is whether Jennifer Walters and her Green Goddess alter-ego can be easily incorporated into more serious storylines. There have obviously been as many different iterations of She-Hulk in comic form as other Marvel characters. That means there could be ways to rework the character in future appearances. Still, it will all depend on exactly where she made that next appearance.

Having already made a connection to Matt Murdock in her own series, it would seem that Tatiana Maslany could appear in Daredevil: Born Again, although it would probably be a similar cameo-type appearance to the one Charlie Cox made in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Beyond that, there are always the upcoming Avengers movies and a long-rumored Hulk project that could always end up seeing Jen hulking out again, but it seems that for now, we can only wait and see whether any of those appearances work out or not.
