It turns out that the directors of the hot horror film Talk to Me, Danny and Michael Phillipou, already shot a prequel to the movie! During an interview with THR, the filmmakers shared that the story for the prequel is based on the opening scene of the film. The film is said to focus on Duckett, who was a previous victim of the cursed hand at the center of the story. Talk To Me starts at a party when a guy named Cole shows up at a house party looking for his brother Duckett. That whole thing does not end well. Danny revealed in the interview: ”We actually shot an entire Duckett prequel already. It’s told entirely through the perspective of mobile phones and social media, so maybe down the line, we can release that.”Hopefully, they do release that! I’d like to see it! The filmmakers are also developing a sequel and when previously talking about that they said: ”But also while writing the first film, you can’t help but write scenes for a second film. So there’s so many scenes. The mythology was so thick, and if A24 gave us the opportunity, we wouldn’t be able to resist. I feel like we’d jump at it.”With the first film being the success that it has become, it makes sense that A24 would want to make more films in the franchise. The Talk To Me franchise could be big business for them! In the film: “Conjuring spirits has become the latest local party craze, and looking for a distraction on the anniversary of her mother’s death, teenage Mia (Sophie Wilde) is determined to get a piece of the otherworldly action.
