Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive clip from the new action thriller Dead Shot. The movie is inspired by Steven P. Moysey’s book, The Road to Balcombe Street. Michael O’Hara (Colin Morgan), a retired Irish paramilitary, is persuaded by his pregnant wife to run and escape a border ambush, but things go horribly wrong when he witnesses British Sergeant Tempest (Aml Ameen) shoot and kill her. Michael, now presumed dead, escapes and follows Tempest to London.
Michael will do whatever it takes to avenge his wife’s murder, but Tempest is protected by the police. In order to succeed, Michael will have to rely on dangerous allies, and he’ll cross any line to make Tempest feel the pain he caused. Set in 1970s London, the film taps into the conflict between Ireland and England, including the actions of the IRA.
More About Dead Shot
In Screen Rant’s exclusive clip from Dead Shot, Michael remembers his wife’s murder while watching laundry tumble in a washer, only to be interrupted by Caherine (Felicity Jones). Morgan wants a name, but Jones won’t share it until he fulfills his end of the deal and delivers a box. Morgan wants the name first, but she initially refuses until he agrees. Jones gives him a final warning to put his personal agenda aside, but Morgan clearly isn’t listening.

Dead Shot takes a time of violence and unrest and adds a very personal revenge tale on top of it, making the fight between the English and Irish feel even more personal. Tempest’s actions are what start everything, including Morgan’s dark path towards revenge. Setting the film during this bloody era in history brings this huge political issue into a cat-and-mouse revenge tale that uses the conflict as an interesting backdrop, tying Morgan’s actions into a larger story.
Dead Shot is co-directed and co-written by Tom Guard and Charles Guard, based on a screenplay by Ronan Bennett. Dead Shot stars Aml Ameen (I May Destroy You), Colin Morgan (Belfast), Mark Strong (Kingsman franchise), and Felicity Jones (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Dead Shot has a runtime of 93 minutes.
Dead Shot will be available in theaters, On Demand, and on Digital on August 18.
