Tom Hiddleston Returns As Loki in First Season 2 Trailer
Oct 2, 2023
One of the most anticipated Marvel offerings coming this year is the second season of Loki. The god of mischief’s first season drew in one of the biggest audiences to Disney+ on its debut, and became one of the founding projects to delve into the idea of the multiverse. Now Tom Hiddleston is back for more in a world that isn’t what it once was and another meeting with at least one variant of Kang on the cards. In the first trailer for the show’s return, fans have been given a glimpse at where Loki’s new adventure will take him. Check it out below.
Loki season 2 was given a surprise preview in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The clip saw Hiddleston’s Loki and his associate Mobius M. Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, having tracked down a variant of Kang (Jonathan Majors) who goes by the name of Victor Timely and has some very interesting ideas about time travel. There have already been many theories about Loki coming face to face with a more powerful variant of Kang by the end of the season, as well as the series directly leading Hiddleston’s ever popular anti-hero into what could be a final appearance as part of Phase Six’s Avengers movies.
As well as the return of many characters from season 1, including Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravenna Renslayer and Sophie Di Martino as Sylvie, the new season has added Game of Thrones star Kate Dickie and Everything Everywhere All At Once Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan in new roles.

Loki Will Arrive on Disney+ Much Later Than Originally Planned.

The Marvel Studios schedule has been almost impossible to nail down recently, with many movies being delayed even after the Covid pandemic issues and not facing more upheaval from the writer’s and actor’s strikes. However, other factors have included the overworking of Marvel’s VFX departments and seemingly the return of former Disney CEO Bob Iger to his old role. Having originally planned to put out Secret Invasion in early spring, and Loki in early summer along with several other potential shows, Marvel Studios slammed the brakes on their output for 2023 and beyond. This means that Loki’s arrival was pushed back several months to allow the show to be completed fully before airing.
Although there has been frustration at having to wait longer to see some of the highly anticipated projects from Marvel Studios come to fruition, it is maybe exactly what the franchise needs in order to take a breath and take stock of some tight deadlines and rushed final touches that have plagued releases in the last couple of years. Even the first season of Loki saw work on its finale only being completed a few weeks before the episode aired.
Whether Loki can hit the same heights of the first season is something that we are still a bit away from discovering, but one thing for certain is that Tom Hiddleston’s character has lost none of his popularity. That could be what helps the series become both a hit with reviewers and audiences as well as prove to be a much-needed ratings winner for Disney+.
