FX & Hulu Finally Renew Emmy-Nominated Series For A Third Season

Nov 6, 2023

There are no sure things in Hollywood. But really, it should come as no surprise that “The Bear” is returning for Season 3. Unfortunately, in a world where streaming services cancel series at the drop of the hat, it’s at least nice to have confirmation that Hulu and FX have signed on for another season of the Emmy-nominated series.

According to FX, the network has renewed the acclaimed series, “The Bear,” for a third season. Again, after the success of the first season (which is nominated for 13 Emmys) and a second season, which didn’t lose its step at all, it’s not a shock to see FX greenlight another batch of episodes. However, it’s refreshing to see it in writing.
Created by Christopher Storer, “The Bear” is a series that follows the story of Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) a young, hotshot chef who comes back to Chicago after the death of his brother to revitalize the family restaurant. But, if you’ve seen the first two seasons of the series, you know “The Bear” is much, much more than just the story of a restaurant. With a supporting cast filled with incredible actors playing memorable and beloved characters, “The Bear” has turned into an ensemble about family, relationships, and perseverance. It’s just, flat-out, one of the best shows on TV today.

“‘The Bear,’ which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment. “We’re so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of ‘The Bear.’”
Of course, with the ongoing SAG strike and the recent resolution of the WGA strike, it’s unclear when we might see season 3 of “The Bear” arrive on FX on Hulu. Considering just how popular the series is, you have to assume everyone involved is going to work as hard as possible to bring it to screens sooner rather than later.
