Summary
Daredevil: Born Again will see Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk try to leave their alter-egos behind to serve the people of New York. The main cast of Daredevil: Born Again includes Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, and Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn. The Disney+ series will be different from the Netflix version, with changes in the storyline and a focus on the emotional depth of the characters.
A new synopsis for the upcoming Disney+ semi-reboot of Daredevil has been revealed, offering some insight into where the Marvel hero and his nemesis The Kingpin will find themselves when Daredevil: Born Again lands on the streaming platform. Coming courtesy of the U.S. Copyright Office, it seems that both Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk will attempt to leave their respective alter-egos behind. Of course, this is unlikely to last long.
Check out the newly released synopsis for Daredevil: Born Again below:
“Marvel Studios presents “Daredevil” in which longtime rivals Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) try to leave behind their darker alter-egos to serve the people of New York only to have their pasts catch up to them. In the first episode of the series we are reintroduced to the world of Daredevil.”
As well as this logline, which seems to match-up with rumors that the Daredevil series will take inspiration from the 2017-2018 comic book arc, Mayor Fisk, which finds The Kingpin running for Mayor, other details regarding the cast and crew are also revealed.
Listing American Assassin, Dexter, and Homeland director Michael Cuesta (who is expected to helm at least one episode of Daredevil: Born Again), the main cast includes Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, and Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn.
Further casting information offers more clues and includes Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blade, Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk, Nikki M James as Kirsten McDuffie, Genneya Walton as BB Urich, Clark Johnson as Cherry, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, and Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera.

Daredevil: Born Again Will Be Something Different, Teases Charlie Cox
Marvel Studios
While returning actor Charlie Cox has confirmed that the Daredevil seen in Daredevil: Born Again is the same as the Netflix iteration, the series itself will make some changes.
“We’ve only just started shooting. I think we’re a couple weeks in, and the show is going to be very, very different than the Netflix show, and it’s so exciting because what we’re doing is quite something. I think it’s something that people are not going to expect. But, always with these Marvel old comic stories that are being revisited and reinvented by us actors, and the writers, the main thing is to answer the fans. To give them what they want but try to be original in some way at the same time, and so that’s what we’re doing on the show. It’s definitely an original way to look at this, and it’s really deep, really emotional.”
What these differences are exactly remains to be seen, but recent rumors have claimed that Daredevil: Born Again will feature entire episodes featuring just Matt Murdock the lawyer with no Daredevil in sight.
Daredevil: Born Again will consist of 18 episodes and is due to be released as part of Phase Five of the MCU. While a release date has not yet been officially revealed, it is now expected that Daredevil: Born Again will land on Disney+ in early 2025.
