Breaking Bad Stars Reunite 14 Years After One of the Most Shocking Deaths in the Series

Nov 26, 2023

Summary

Breaking Bad celebrated its 15th anniversary with a cast reunion, reminding fans of the show’s tragic deaths, including Krysten Ritter’s character, Jane. Fourteen years after that tragic death, the Jessica Jones star and Bryan Cranston were seen together at an event. Krysten Ritter, who portrayed Jessica Jones in the Marvel/Netflix franchise, could potentially have a role in the MCU, as fans are requesting her return alongside Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.

In September, it marked 10 years since Breaking Bad released its final episode, and this same year the series celebrated its 15th anniversary since it first aired. In all this time, there have been many cast reunions, and the most recent one reminds fans of one of the show’s most tragic deaths. Breaking Bad follows the story of a chemistry teacher named Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, who discovers that he has cancer and has little time to live. Having nothing to leave his family for when he is gone, he teams up with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), to set up a methamphetamine kitchen and sell it. Walter’s talent for chemistry and Jesse’s knowledge of the world of drug trafficking will make them the perfect duo for a successful business.

However, entering such a dark and murky world will have its consequences. And as Walter becomes increasingly dangerous, his life becomes chaotic, causing many people around him to die. But there was one death in particular in the second season that fans still remember, and it’s that of Krysten Ritter’s character, Jane.

Fourteen years after that tragic death, the Jessica Jones star and Cranston were seen together at an event with another of the great actors of the Breaking Bad universe, Bob Odenkirk, who played the legendary Saul Goodman. Check out the images below courtesy of CinemaBlend):

Is Krysten Ritter Coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Netflix

While Krysten Ritter’s character may no longer have a place in the Breaking Bad franchise, she could have an important role to play in the MCU. When it was announced that Charlie Cox would return to play Matt Murdock in a new series, fans of the Marve/Netflix franchise started asking for Ritter’s return as Jessica Jones as well.

In fact, the actress was going to appear in Daredevil: Born Again, but due to scheduling conflicts she was unable to do so, so Marvel Studios decided to bring back Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle. But now that the series has been delayed due to a major set of changes that Kevin Feige requested, and since Ritter has already finished filming the first season of the Orphan Black spinoff, there could be a chance for her to at least have a cameo in the show.

Even if she does not appear in the first installment, it seems that Marvel Studios is interested in changing the way they make TV shows, and they want to bet on long-lasting content, producing series of several seasons instead of just one. So the actress could appear later to play Jessica Jones once again.

Premiering in 2015, Jessica Jones was the second series in The Defenders universe after Daredevil, and was as well received as the show starring Cox. The story focuses on the titular character, a detective who opens her own investigation agency, but when her past begins to haunt her, she must use much more than her intelligence to stop the dark forces that hide in the shadows of the city.
