Summary

“Blue Beetle is a surprisingly emotional, yet hilarious and exhilarating superhero blockbuster like no other. It’s filled to the brim with heart and Angel Manuel Soto has created a perfect celebration of Latino culture.” “Blue Beetle is my favorite post-Nolan DC film. It’s an action packed, highly entertaining superhero story about family…The film is unique in that it lovingly and unabashedly shares the Reyes family’s Mexican culture.” “Blue Beetle stands out from previous DC entries & its mostly due to the Latin flavor, let’s be real. It’s funny, emotional & the action scenes w BB are amazing! The cast is beautiful, but Maridueña & López SHINE. Can’t wait to see more!”

Is all set for the long-awaited debut of Jaime Reyes’ debut on the big screen. As Blue Beetle’s release approaches, the first reactions to the latest DCU adventure are in to celebrate the raise of a new hero.

Starring Cobra Kai’s Xolo Mariduena as the titular character, the movie is directed by Angel Manuel Soto and has an incredible cast that includes Susan Sarandon as the main villain, Victoria Kord; Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine as Ted Kord’s daughter Jenny; Raoul Trukillo as the powerful Caparax; George Lopez; Harvey Guillen, Damian Alcazar; Belissa Escobedo; Adriana Barraza; Elpidia Carrillo; and Becky G.

Blue Beetle follows the story of Jaime from the moment he returns home after graduating from college, finding out his family is going through a difficult time financially. To help them out, Jaime visits Kord Tower after Jenny asked him to meet her there. What he wasn’t expecting was ending up with an ancient artifact under his guard, which ultimately chooses him to be the next Blue Beetle.

The movie is coming to theaters on August 18, but the first reactions are already here, and it seems like things are looking good for Jaime’s future.
