In the Know is an adult animated comedy series featuring stop-motion animation and live-action interviews with guests. The show aims to start funny, scary, and friendly conversations and centers around the character Lauren Caspian.
NPR host Lauren Caspian has Finn Wolfhard audition for an interesting new role in this exclusive clip from Peacock’s In the Know. The Stranger Things and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star is put on the spot by the animated host, voiced by Zach Woods, who offers Wolfhard the chance to audition to play a young Lauren Caspian in a potential biopic. You can check out the charming new clip from In the Know below:
Alongside the new footage, you can also check out the official synopsis for In the Know below, which offers a better idea of what this new chatshow is all about…
“Lauren Caspian is NPR’s third most popular host. He’s a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He’s also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren’s show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.”
From Zach Woods (Silicon Valley, Avenue 5, The Office), Brandon Gardner (Bud, David), and Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, King of the Hill), In the Know is Peacock’s first adult animated original comedy series which blends intricate stop-motion animation by ShadowMachine (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, BoJack Horseman) with live-action interviews with a variety of guests including Kaia Gerber, Jonathan Van Ness, Ken Burns, Finn Wolfhard, Norah Jones, Tegan and Sara, Nicole Byer, Roxane Gay, Mike Tyson, Jorge Masvidal, and Hugh Laurie.

In the Know Premieres This Week on Peacock
In the Know features a voice cast that includes Zach Woods (Silicon Valley, The Office) as “Lauren Caspian,” host of the fake “In The Know” NPR radio program; Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, Silicon Valley, King of the Hill) as “Sandy,” culture critic; Caitlin Reilly (Loot, Hacks) as “Fabian,” researcher and fact-checker; Charlie Bushnell (Diary of a Future President, Percy Jackson and The Olympians) as “Chase,” college intern; J. Smith-Cameron (Succession, Rectify) as “Barb,” co-executive producer of “In The Know,” and Carl Tart (Grand Crew) as “Carl,” sound engineer.
A new poster for In the Know has also now been unveiled, offering a better look at the cast of animated characters. Check it out below:

An array of new images from In the Know have also now been released, which you can see below, with Zach Woods and Brandon Gardner having previously revealed what inspired them to make the show.
“As we get more isolated in our respective echo chambers, we’re desperate to connect with people who are different from us through honest conversation and humor. We try to provide both on the show. (And even if you think our comedy is literal trash, we hope you’ll enjoy the gorgeous animation from the stop-motion geniuses at ShadowMachine.)
We want this show to start funny, scary, friendly conversations. We want to portray people who are possibly irredeemable but hopefully still loveable. And at the center of all of this is a frail overconfident male puppet with a woman’s name: Lauren Caspian.”
In the Know is due to premiere exclusively on Peacock on January 25, 2024.
