Travis Kelce Will Not Join Taylor Swift at 2024 Grammy Awards – The Hollywood Reporter
Feb 2, 2024
Travis Kelce will not join Taylor Swift at the 2024 Grammy Awards this Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end will stay back to keep focused on his team’s preparations for Super Bowl LVIII.
“I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys, and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for,” Kelce said during an appearance on The Pat McAffee Show on Wednesday. “I got practice Saturday, but Sunday is a travel day, unfortunately I have to get ready for this big ole Super Bowl that we got in a week.”
The 2024 Grammy Awards will take place this Sunday in Los Angeles, exactly one week before Kelce and the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
Kelce’s update comes after Swift cheered on her boyfriend at last Sunday’s AFC championship against the Baltimore Ravens. The pop star watched the game from a suite and joined Kelce on the field afterward to celebrate, greeting him with a kiss, a long embrace and another smooch.
Though Kelce won’t join Swift for music’s biggest night Sunday, many believe she will be back in the football stands for next week’s Super Bowl. Though she has concerts scheduled for Tokyo on Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10, many online have pointed out that the time change between Japan and Nevada would work in her favor to allow her to arrive in time for the game.
Swift’s high-profile romance with Kelce continues to make waves on the Internet — in addition to massive fan interest and support, the singer also recently became victim to pornographic AI nudes that mocked her Chiefs fandom. The images spread on social media sites, primarily X (formerly known as Twitter), last week and resulted in a massive pushback from Swift supporters and legislators — including the White House — seeking to crack down on deepfake images.
X briefly blocked users’ ability to search for “Taylor Swift” across the site, and then reinstated the search term Monday. “Taylor Swift AI” remains blocked.
“Search has been re-enabled and we will continue to be vigilant for any attempt to spread this content and will remove it if we find it,” read a statement from X, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
