Jamie Dornan’s Amnesiac Dramatic Thriller Returns Feb 29 On Netflix
Feb 21, 2024
If your series gets canceled by a conservative, is Netflix the first call you make if you’re a producer or showrunner? Very possibly. “Girls5Eva” got canceled from Peacock in 2022, and it was picked up for season three this year on Netflix. Likewise, Max’s series, “The Tourist,” the drama thriller series starring Jamie Dornan, was dropped after one season, but then Netflix picked it up for season two, the show apparently doing well on their algorithm.

To be fair, it’s a U.K. series, first and foremost, debuting on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K., and they likely just licensed it to Max for season one, with Netflix picking up the season two option.
Written and created by Harry Williams and Jack Williams, “The Tourist,” set in the Australian Outback, centering on a man who wakes up in the hospital with no idea who he is — or why so many people want him dead.
Season two is six episodes long and stars Dornan and Danielle Macdonald, the Australian actor known for “Patti Cakes.”
Here’s the season two synopsis:
Elliot (Jamie Dornan) and Helen (Danielle Macdonald) travel to Ireland to find answers about Elliot’s identity, but instead, they are forced to face the dangerous consequences of his past actions.
Executive producers on the series include Harry and Jack Williams, Sarah Hammond, Daniel Walker for Two Brothers, Nawfal Faizullah for the BBC, and Jamie Dornan.
Season two of “The Tourist” is set to debut on Netflix on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024. Watch the new trailer below.
