No stranger to the small screen thanks to his Disney+ shows, actor Jeff Goldblum (“Thor: Ragnarok”) returns to television year with “KAOS,” a new six-episode series from creator Charlie Covell (“The End Of The F***ing World”). All-powerful, cruel, and occasionally benevolent, eff Goldblum plays Zeus, King of the gods. And according to the new trailer, he has no idea that the plot to take him down has begun. The “KAOS” will air on Netflix later this year. The streamer describes the series as a “bold, darkly comic, contemporary take on Greek mythology: exploring love, power, and life in the underworld.”

Joining Goldblum in “KAOS” is a stacked and extensive supporting cast, including David Thewlis as Hades (“Fargo”), Janet McTeer as Hera (“Ozark”), Cliff Curtis as Poseidon (“Avatar: The Way of Water”), Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus (“Station Eleven”), Killian Scott as Orpheus (“Dublin Murders”), Aurora Perrineau as Riddy (“Westworld”), When They See Us”), Misia Butler as Caneus (“The School For Good & Evil”), Leila Farzad as Ari (I Hate Suzie, Better), Rakie Ayola as Persephone (“Anthony, “The Pact”), and Stanley Townsend as Minos (“Becoming Elizabeth”). The show will also feature guest cameos from Billie Piper (“Scoop”) and comedian Suzy Eddie Izzard (“Ocean’s Thirteen”).
Netflix’s synopsis for the upcoming Goldblum show focused on the Greek pantheon of gods read as follows:
Zeus (Goldblum) is at the top of the mythological food chain as the King of the Gods, a position he has enjoyed for quite some time. Then, one day, he discovers the unthinkable — a wrinkle on his forehead. Paranoia builds, leading the supreme deity down a dangerous and unstable path. Zeus is convinced his fall is nigh and sees omens of doom everywhere. And he’s right to be worried because Zeus’ one-time friend and now prisoner, Prometheus, is orchestrating a plan to bring him down. The plan involves three disparate humans, all of whom are totally unaware of their cosmic significance or the part they must play in saving the world.
“KAOS” has no concrete release date from Netflix but is expected to be available for streaming sometime this summer.
