Best Actor In A Limited Series Or Movie Emmys 2024 Predictions & Contenders

May 2, 2024

Congratulations to Jon Hamm and Andrew Scott. You are more than likely earning Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Emmy nominations for “Fargo” season five and “Ripley,” respectively. The other three nominees in the category are very much up for grabs.

“Shogun” is a massive streaming and critical hit for FX and on Hulu. Both Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis could get a boost from its popularity. Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer” is a phenomenon peaking at just the right time for creator, writer, and star Richard Gadd to land his first Emmy nomination. If Emmy watchers know anything its that no matter what the decade, the industry has a soft spot for the seminal USA Network series “Monk.” That means four-time Emmy Award winner Tony Shalhoub has an excellent shot to make it for the original movie “Mr. Monk’s Last Case” (it doesn’t hurt that he already landed a SAG Awards nomination for it earlier this year).
Other potential recipients include “Fellow Travelers” star Matt Boomer, Tom Hollander for “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans,” Michael Douglas as the Benjamin in “Franklin,” “Masters of Air” star Austin Butler, “One Day” standout Leo Woodall, and a previous winner in this category, Ewan McGregor for “A Gentleman in Moscow.” Tom Holland also has an outside shot for “The Crowded Room” although that program’s early June 2023 launch date may put him too out of sight, out of mind.
