May 28, 2024

Giancarlo Esposito is one of the most interesting actors working today. He’s also an actor who hasn’t been shy about his desire to join Marvel Studios MCU franchise. And whenever there’s an actor talking about joining the MCU, fans get in a tizzy trying to come up with the perfect superhero role. Well, now that Esposito has confirmed that he is signed to do an MCU project, fans are going crazy with speculation. But the actor doesn’t think anyone will be able to guess his role.

Speaking at a convention recently (via X), not only did Giancarlo Esposito, once again, confirm he will be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, but he teased the future of his unknown character.
“The MCU has knocked on my door and it’s a role you won’t predict,” said Esposito. “It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards.”

So, what role is it? Many people are dying to see Esposito as Professor X in an “X-Men” film, but with Marvel only just now hiring a screenwriter, that film seems really far off still. What about Doctor Doom? That is a possibility, but why would he show up in a series after “The Fantastic Four?” Also, these two fancasting situations are all over social media, and the actor has already said no one will guess.
All that to say, it’s probably not a role that people are already guessing. So, it’s probably not Professor X or Doom. And it may not be a major role. Perhaps it’s more of a supporting role that shows up in various projects, a la Nick Fury. We’ll just have to wait and see.
