David Denman & Sol Rodríguez Join Season 2 Of James Gunn’s Superhero Series

Jun 11, 2024

While we still don’t know how a Season 2 of “Peacemaker” exists in the newly rebooted DCU, we know it’s happening. James Gunn says it’ll make sense. Regardless, we now know a couple of new names who are joining the cast.

According to The Wrap, David Denman and Sol Rodríguez have joined the cast of “Peacemaker” Season 2, which is expected to once again be spearheaded by James Gunn. While we don’t have confirmation about what role Denman will have, Rodríguez is said to be cast as Sasha Bordeaux. In the comics, she’s mainly been a supporting character in the Batman mythos, but she is also a character who has shown up in relation to Checkmate, a super secret organization that sometimes has ties with Amanda Waller’s Task Force X.

The new actors join Frank Grillo (playing Rick Flagg Sr.) as the latest additions to the cast. “Peacemaker” vets Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland and Steve Agee are all slated to return for Season 2.
Again, it’s worth noting that “Peacemaker” is the only carryover from the previous DC regime. It’s clear that Gunn is going out of his way to make sure his baby doesn’t get thrown out with the DCEU bathwater. Considering “Peacemaker” was a big hit for Max (known as HBO Max at that time), it makes sense why he would want it to return. We’ll just have to see the continuity gymnastics that Gunn will do to make it gel with his brand-new DCU.
We don’t have a release date for “Peacemaker” Season 2, but the report claims that Gunn has once again written all of the episodes and will at least direct three of them.
