Diego Luna Says ‘Andor’ Season 2 Will Give You “A Different Perspective” On ‘Rogue One’
Jun 24, 2024
While it doesn’t have a ton of Jedi and lightsaber battles, many fans believe “Andor” is the best ‘Star Wars’ to be released on Disney+ so far. There is something unique and mature about the show, which stars Diego Luna. And those fans are eagerly anticipating the second season of the series, which apparently is going to have quite a few connections to ‘Rogue One.’
Speaking at the ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024 (via The Popverse), Diego Luna took part in a panel to talk about “Andor” and what’s to come in the second season. Despite the new episodes likely being very far away still, he was more than happy to tease just how the new season will tee up the events of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

While we already know what happens in that film, and we were already aware “Andor” would lead directly into it, it appears that the second season of the show will include some ‘Rogue One’ goodies, as well as changing how we view the ‘Star Wars’ film.
“I can tell you, ‘Rogue One’ is coming, so there will be characters there that you will recognize. There will be cool stuff,” said Luna. “For those who love ‘Rogue One,’ this season is going to be very special. And it’s going to be fascinating to go straight to ‘Rogue One’ after watching this second season, because you will see ‘Rogue One’ from a different perspective. I promise you that.”

We, obviously, don’t have a ton of information about what to expect from Season 2 of “Andor.” Lucasfilm is always very secretive. However, from what showrunner Tony Gilroy has teased, Season 2 is said to include some time jumps and actually be structured like several grouped stories instead of one consistent serialized tale. Separated into four-episode chunks, each will tell its own story leading up to the events of ‘Rogue One.’
And considering we already know what is going to happen to Cassian Andor in ‘Rogue One,’ we aren’t expecting massive reveals that will change everything, but there is still plenty of new information we can learn about the character.
It’s unclear when we might see “Andor” Season 2 arrive on Disney+. The show has wrapped filming of Season 2, so it’s likely coming in 2025.
