Marvel Exec Says ‘Agatha All Along’ Is A “Halloween Show” That Is Actually “Really Scary”

Jul 3, 2024

It’s clear Marvel is having a bit of fun with “Agatha All Along.” For more than a year, the studio teased various titles for the series, all of which were proven to be false. All of that to get to the joke that it was “Agatha All Along.” But according to one Marvel executive, the fun of the series leads directly into what is an actually scary show.

Speaking on the Official Marvel Podcast, Marvel’s Head of TV, Animation, and Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, talked about what people can expect with the new series “Agatha All Along.” And apparently, you should get ready for something spooky.
“‘Agatha’ is really fun, but it’s really scary. And it gets quite dramatic. She’s an amazing anti-hero,” said Winderbaum. “It lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you’re crying.”
He added, “It’s a Marvel brand of scary. It’s a Halloween show. There are deadly stakes in this series. It’s a fun ride, but it’s a dangerous one.”
Obviously, we’re not going to expect “Agatha All Along” to resemble something like “Hereditary” or even a slasher like “Halloween.” Marvel has tried “scary” before with “Werewolf by Night,” and while that was a pretty fun monster story, it was far from frightening. So, it’s more likely that the horror aspect of ‘Agatha’ is on the fun, monster-y side of things than straight horror.
That said, we really don’t know much about the upcoming Marvel TV series. We know Kathryn Hahn returns as the title character, and we know there is a pretty great supporting cast. But there’s no word yet on what the plot of the series will be like.
We’ll find out soon enough, as “Agatha All Along” is set to debut on September 18.
