Interview with the Vampire Fans React to Lestat’s Return in Season 3 Teaser
Jul 30, 2024
Rock star Lestat finally finds the spotlight, and the fans love it! As San Diego Comic-Con enters its final day, followers of AMC’s television series Interview with the Vampire were treated to a four-minute teaser for Season 3, which features a heavy dose of actor Sam Reid’s Lestat de Lioncourt in all his bloody glitz and glam rock ‘n’ roll glory. During the brand-new footage (below), Lestat can be seen preparing for his own interview with the now vampiric Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), and the Brat Prince is nothing if not showing off his new rock-n-roll persona for the cameras.
@arutlit62 writes in the YouTube video’s comments:
I can’t believe the day has come…Rockstar Lestat is here.
Meanwhile, @tsvampirella says, “I can’t wait to see Daniel interview and question Lestat whew chile it’s gonna be WILDD.”

MY JAW HIT THE FLOOR OMG!!! The sassyness, the cvnty outfits, Daniel doing a documentary, the blood, the glitter, and the song!!!!!
While Season 1 and 2 of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire were adapted from author Anne Rice’s 1976 novel of the same name, Season 3 will draw from the late writer’s second book in The Vampire Chronicles literary series, The Vampire Lestat (1985). Published nine years following IWTV, the Brat Prince has reinvented himself as a touring rock star after having come across a band known as Satan’s Night Out, which he quickly makes his own.
Season 3 Sneak Peek Even Includes Lestat’s First Rock Song
Lestat de Lioncourt may never fully recover from the heartbreaking death of his daughter Claudia (Delainey Hayles), but the Brat Prince (Reid) hasn’t let the tragic loss slow down his musical career. In fact, the brand-new teaser for Interview with the Vampire Season 3 gives the fans a taste of Lestat’s musical genius as his band’s new song resonates throughout the latter portion of the footage. @kkbisco writes in the video’s comments:
I didn’t think we’d get a song this early. WELCOME BACK LESTAT.
@markeithamorrison2370 adds, “His voice sounds so freaking good, I can’t wait for season three. AMC please stop teasing us, because we can’t wait anymore and we want more.”

Another nice touch that fans of Anne Rice’s novels will notice immediately is that Lestat quotes the opening of The Vampire Lestat (1985) when he subliminally reveals himself to the audience watching him on camera, during the teaser footage. And it’s hard to imagine another actor other than Sam Reid portraying the Brat Prince, as the Emmy-worthy thespian has certainly become synonymous with the iconic character. @LizardsLore writes:
I remember when everyone doubted this man as Lestat and here we are.. THIS. THIS IS the Lestat we deserve.
@TamiThePinkHairedGirl adds, “OMG, YES!!!! I hadn’t even thought about the fact that this part of the story is going to let Sam Reid show off more of his singing! I can’t wait!!!!”
Louis and Lestat won’t be together romantically as Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire begins, but at least the lovers were able to reconcile as Season 2 came to a close. One of the wonderful things about Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe on television is that Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) will have a much larger role to play than he did in the novels.
As the late author revealed in many interviews over the years, it was Lestat’s voice that began speaking to her, which resulted in the Brat Prince becoming the reluctant hero of Rice’s stories beginning with 1985’s The Vampire Lestat novel. And fans are fixing to meet TV adaptations of the follow-up book’s memorable characters, including Lestat’s mother, Gabrielle, and de Lioncourt’s mysterious maker, Magnus — not to mention the painting-obsessed Marius de Romanus.
At the time of this writing, an official release date for
Interview with the Vampire
Season 3 hasn’t been revealed yet.
