Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ Spin-Off Titled ‘Dream Productions’ & ‘Win Or Lose’ Dated For December With New Trailer [D23]

Aug 10, 2024

Pixar Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Peter Docter took the stage tonight at D23 in Anaheim, California, and while we already recapped new details unveiled about “Toy Story 5” and a new 2026 film called “Hoppers,” there are more Pixar-related news.
Disney’s beloved animation house also revealed some about their “Inside Out” spin-off series.  Titled “Dream Productions,” the series is set in “Inside Out” character Riley’s dream world. “Dream Productions” currently has no date set as of yet.

“In the first film, remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird,” Docter told EW earlier this year. “We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life, as well. So it’s pretty cool.”
Pixar also provided additional details about its first-ever original series, “Win or Lose.” The series follows the intertwined stories of eight characters as they prepare for their big championship softball game.
Directed, written, and executive produced by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, Pixar revealed a fall 2025 debut time frame for its premiere on Disney+.
Here’s the updated “Win Or Lose” synopsis:
“Win or Lose,” Pixar Animation Studios’ first-ever original series, follows the intertwined stories of eight different characters as they each prepare for their big championship softball game. The series reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of each character—the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire—with incredibly funny, very emotional and uniquely animated perspectives.
Lastly, the animation studio gave an update on “Elio,” which is dated June 13, 2025. Directed by Adrian Molina (a co-director and co-writer of “Coco“) and starring the voice work of Yonas Kibreab, America Ferrera, Jameela Jamil, and Brad Garrett.
Here’s the synopsis:
For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers—in Disney and Pixar’s all-new movie “Elio,” the universe calls back! The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials, and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.
To recap, Pixar’s upcoming schedule looks like this:
“Win or Lose”— Dec 6, 2024
“Elio”— June 13, 2025
“Dream Productions” — TBD
“Hoppers”— March 6, 2026
“Toy Story 5”— June 19, 2026
Untitled Pixar Film— June, 18, 2027
